Tim Weyland: CNRA State Director of Instruction Former FIFA Referee

Tim Weyland: Steps down as CNRA State Director of Instruction after 3 plus-years of administrative services. 

The California North Referee Administration (CNRA) announced today on Saturday, March 21, 2015, that Tim Weyland will be stepping down from the State Director of Instruction (SDI) position effective April 1st, 2015. Tim has served in the position of (SDI) for over three years and has helped lead a number of improvements statewide in the instructional program, including:

  •  Initiating the Referee Academy Program
  •  Bringing the USSF Regional Training Seminars (RTS) back to Northern California
  •  Sponsoring State events with top FIFA Referees, Assistant Referees and Internationally respected Instructors as speakers, including: Kari Seitz, Veronica Perez, Marlene Duffy, Esse Baharmast, Brian Hall and Sandra Hunt, Herb Silva and Sandra Serafini.
  •  Streamlining administration and implementing GameOfficials
  •  Redesigning and Implementing a blended‐learning approach to the Entry‐Level Referee CourseCNRA wants to thank Tim for his time serving in the SDI role and appreciate the work he has led to build up the instructional program in Northern California. Tim will continue to support the referee program as a National Instructor and Assessor as well as in his role as a FIFA Instructor for Beach Soccer Refereeing. He has been a member of the soccer refereeing community in Northern California for over 30-years, was a FIFA Referee from 1995‐2000 and also refereed over 100 games in Major League Soccer, including the Final in 1999. Tim has stated, “I want to thank everyone who participated in building up the instructional program of CNRA during my tenure over the past 3-years, especially Albert Montalvo, who served as my key assistant. This is a good time for me to step down and allow someone else with the time and energy to continue the program.”

    In the next few weeks, CNRA will name a successor.
