38 New Referee Mentors Added to CNRA Roster

on

On March 9, a group of prospective Referee Mentors met in Livermore, CA as part of their final certification before earning their license. The day started with a classroom session highlighting the role mentors play in the development of referees, presentation best practices, techniques for on-field mentoring, and a review of the first-time referee courses they’ll soon be leading.

The day continued with a transition to a practical on-field session where all participants were reminded what it was like to be a brand new referee and worked on fine tuning the teaching points all new referees need before they step out on the pitch for their first game.

The end of the day saw 38 new certified referee mentors who will now be on the front lines of referee development in Cal North, from leading new referee courses, to providing constructive feedback to referees on local matches, to continuing to foster a fair, fun, educational and safe environment for all referees across the state.

Please join us in congratulating all of our new mentors!
